Experience

Helping students excel and have fun at the same time is a passion of mine. I believe that no matter what subject you teach, you are responsible for helping students learn how to think critically and believe in their abilities. I taught Psychology at the University of Illinois while obtaining my graduate degree in Advertising. I loved teaching so much, I taught full time while I was also a full time student. My students did well and enjoyed their classroom experience with me. I found out that undergraduate students were attending my course even though they had signed up with different professors using the same textbook. My students scored so well on tests and my methods were so unique, I was chosen to write a Study Guide for an Introductory Psychology textbook, published by Houghton, Mifflin (published under maiden name Bridget Schoppert).

Hobbies

I have always been a musician - singing and playing the piano. I love to listen to music and enjoy a wide variety of styles. For the past 2 years, I have been teaching myself to draw. I started with portraits and have moved on to other subjects, like animals and gardens, etc. I am now branching out into painting and using pastels. Learning is a hobby. That may sound odd, but I love to read about a wide variety of subjects including neurobiology, history, the art of persuasion and debate. I am also an avid fiction reader.
